Therapeutic Approach

How I Work

A warm, collaborative, and evidence-based approach to therapy — tailored entirely to you.

Therapy That Fits You

No two people are the same, and no two therapy journeys should be either. My approach is integrative — meaning I draw from multiple evidence-based frameworks and tailor my methods to what works best for you. Whether you need structured strategies to manage anxiety, a safe space to process grief, or simply someone to think alongside — I adapt.

At the foundation of everything I do is the therapeutic relationship. Research consistently shows that the quality of the connection between therapist and client is the single strongest predictor of positive outcomes. I take that seriously. From our very first conversation, I’m focused on creating an environment where you feel genuinely safe, respected, and understood.

I don’t follow a rigid script. I listen deeply, stay curious, and let your story guide the work.

Four Pillars of My Practice

Every session is grounded in these core principles.

Warmth & Safety

Healing requires safety. I create a non-judgmental, affirming space where you can show up exactly as you are — messy, uncertain, vulnerable. There’s no “right” way to do therapy, and you won’t be judged for anything you share.

Collaboration

Therapy isn’t something I do to you — it’s something we do together. You are the expert on your own life, and I bring clinical expertise to help you make sense of your experiences. We set goals together, check in regularly, and adjust course as needed.

Curiosity

I approach every story with genuine curiosity. Instead of rushing to solutions, I take the time to understand the full picture — the patterns, the context, the emotions beneath the surface. Real understanding is the foundation of real change.

Evidence-Based

Everything I do is grounded in research. I draw from proven therapeutic frameworks — CBT, person-centred therapy, narrative therapy, mindfulness, and more — because you deserve approaches that have been shown to actually work.

What Therapy Looks Like

The First Few Sessions

We begin by getting to know each other. I’ll ask about what brought you to therapy, your history, your goals, and what you’re hoping to get out of our work together. These early sessions are about building trust and creating a roadmap for our time together.

The Middle: Doing the Work

This is where the real growth happens. Depending on your goals, we might work on identifying and shifting thought patterns, processing difficult emotions, building coping strategies, improving communication skills, or exploring deeper narratives about who you are and who you want to become. I check in regularly to make sure we’re on track.

Wrapping Up

Ending therapy is a collaborative process. When you’re feeling ready, we’ll spend time consolidating what you’ve learned, building a plan for maintaining your progress, and ensuring you feel confident moving forward. My door is always open if you need to come back.

Ongoing Professional Growth

I’m committed to being the best therapist I can be. That means continuing to learn, seeking regular clinical supervision, attending workshops and conferences, and staying current with the latest research in psychotherapy and mental health.

I also engage in my own personal therapy, because I believe that therapists who do their own work are better equipped to hold space for others. Walking the path of self-reflection keeps me grounded and authentic in my practice.
